Data viz with colors have multiple meanings
Posted this on my Twitter awhile back. The map below has confusing colors and labels. The darkest colors, in a global sense, usually signify the most extreme conditions, yet the darkest color on the legend is *is the middle* of two lighter colors.
Also, is “warning” stronger than “watch”? Its far right position on X axis implies it is, yet semantically it’s unclear.
