EXPERIENCE

Community Volunteer | 2015 – 2018

As a PTA Board member and volunteer, I’ve worked with the school leadership to resolve and improve the school’s problematic “user experience” touch points. I’ve managed communication efforts to re-engage the school in the local community by producing a parent newsletter, maintaining the school website, changing the school marquee, and creating dozens of signs and flyers.

In addition, as an event chairperson, I’ve organized and led multiple school-wide events serving hundreds and students and their families.

As a Girl Scout leader, I’ve taken our 15-member troop on overnights, managed our troop’s cookie sales, and created diverse curriculum for dozens of meetings.

Contract Visual Designer | 1998 – 2001, 2007 – 2018

Partnering principally with schools, non-profits, and small businesses, I guide the process of establishing a consistent presence in print and online. I supported many of my clients in establishing their first presence on the Internet.

Contract Communications Editing | 2007 – 2018

I edit articles for diverse audiences and publications. I research and write on assigned topics, and fact check and proof articles and spreads through all stages of production.

Assistant Director, Marketing And Communications
Girl Scouts of Northern California | 2001 – 2005

This challenging position required balance among responsibilities of in-house print and digital design, marketing and advertising, public relations, volunteer liaison, and council archiving. I designed, edited, and produced major council publications and special event collateral. I played vital roles in major projects, including redesigning the website and key publications to reflect the contemporary voice of Girl Scouting.
